John J. Leaver

I am a professional freelance video producer, shooter, and editor who is based in New York City.  Covering New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and New York State. I have been working professionally in television & video production since 2006. 

I have an Associates Degree in Television Production from Mercer County Community College as well as a Bachelors Degree in Communication from Rutgers University.  During that time I worked at both of their television stations (MCTV 26 & RU-tv respectively) producing and directing content. That's what really cultivated my career and interest in working with video and people of all types. 

My work is varied and diverse and I wouldn't have it any other way! I do documentaries, news, sports, instructional, weddings, corporate, non-profit organizational, presentations, special events, promotional, and misc personal videos. I can work with you in creating a video solution in any scale.

I have shot extensively with many cameras, including DSLRs (Canon Mark II) and broadcast cameras. Currently my main camera is a Panasonic Lumix GH4, with the Panasonic TM900, Canon Vixia & GoPro 3 Black as supports. I edit using Adobe Premiere Pro CC and am also proficient with Final Cut 7 & X.
